Sea level rise
Past
Sea-level measurements at four points on the east Adriatic coast over the last 40 years indicate differential sea-level trends: from a rise between +0.53 and +0.96 mm/y to a decrease between -0.50 and -0.82 mm/y, a range mainly due to local tectonic activity (1).
Future
For the Mediterranean area, the projected sea level increase for the end of this century is 34–52 cm (1).
