Central and Eastern Europe form a transition zone between Southern Europe, where drought frequency and severity are increasing, and Northern Europe, which shows a trend towards wetter conditions. For Belarus, drought frequency is expected to increase relatively moderately compared to most of Europe, even under a high-end climate change scenario.
